Social media star Daniel Mac is heading to the Indy 500

The popular content creator is heading to the 110th running of the Indy 500

Daniel Mac made a name for himself approaching luxury car owners and finding out what they do for a living in random encounters, which earned him millions of views online. He has since expanded his brand rapidly, and now has 3.3 million YouTube subscribers, 2.8 million Instagram followers, and over 14 million followers on TikTok alone.

He is now heading to the Indianapolis 500 for this weekend's race, which will draw the biggest crowd for single-day sporting event in the entire world. At the speedway, he will meet up with several of the sport's biggest stars including 2x Indy 500 winner Josef Newgarden, get exclusive access to the driver's meeting, walk the grid before the green flag flies, and experience the Snake Pit in all of its chaotic glory.

There's more too, as Mac will lap the speedway in IndyCar's two-seater. He will be recording it all, so his followers can experience the 110th running of the Indy 500 right alongside him. Pay attention to his social channels, notably his TikTok page and IG Reels for at-track updates.

The event is known as the 'Greatest Spectacle in Racing' for good reason, and over 100 years of history are packed into the 2.5-mile speedway in the heart of Indiana. This year, 33 drivers will again chase racing immortality, and a chance to have their visages added to the iconic Borg Warner trophy. The race will feature speeds above 230mph, and intense wheel-to-wheel action where even the smallest mistake can lead to a catastrophic end to one's Indy 500 dream. The battle is never over until the checkered flag flies, and it has featured numerous finishes where the margin of victory under a single tenth of a second.

All the action begins live on FOX, starting with the pre-race show at 10am EST, and the green flag is set to wave at 12:45pm EST. Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark, award-winning actor Brendan Fraser, and Artemis II astronaut Jeremy Hansen will all be part of the pre-race festivities as well. 

Spaniard Alex Palou starts from pole position and is seeking back-to-back wins in one of most prestigious motorsport events on the planet.
