A Canadian Grand Prix marshal has stolen the show on social media after a moment on camera was branded "the most stylish thing" at the race.
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve delivered several tense battles, including between Mercedes team-mates Kimi Antonelli and George Russell, and Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. But one of the most viral moments from the weekend came from a trackside marshal.
The marshal quickly cleared debris from the track on lap 46 and, as he ran back to safety, it was his exit that caught the attention of fans. Rather than awkwardly clambering back to safety, the marshal launched into a perfectly timed, head-first dive through a small opening in the catch fencing.
"I was dying at this live," one fan commented on Reddit, while another added: "Throwing the debris through the gap first, perfection. I guess he looked left, saw the cars thundering straight towards him, and got a huge adrenaline rush."
"So glad it got caught on the F1TV feed. The Marshals deserve all the love," someone else posted, and another fan commented: "The camera zoom at the end was perfect."
Other reactions included: "That little hop at the end before the dive... *chef's kiss*", "If you don't go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a marshal," and "I so loved this live, I was doing the DiCaprio meme from my couch pointing at the TV."
Another approving fan wrote: "The mystery arm suddenly appearing and slinking back into the hole in the end is the cherry on top."
Kimi Antonelli won the race, securing his fourth consecutive grand prix win. The Italian driver was joined on the podium by Lewis Hamilton in second, which was his best grand prix finish with Ferrari, and Max Verstappen in third, which was his first podium finish of 2026.
